The Florida Everblades' three-goalie dilemma has been answered — for the time being.

Blades goalie Kevin Nastiuk was recalled to the American Hockey League's Albany River Rats on Monday, the team announced.

Nastiuk's promotion leaves Florida with two goalies — Craig Kowalski and David Shantz.

Most ECHL teams carry two goalies on their roster.

Nasty was traded to Las Vegas. I'm not happy about this, especially after the way K-Wol played Friday.

The article goes on to mention that Panthers prospect Dustin Johner was placed on the three-day IR (which is new this season).

Blades down to two goalies after call-up

The Blades also placed forward Dustin Johner on the 3-day injured list with what Brush termed a "little, nagging injury." Johner had 15 goals and 21 assists with the Everblades last year.

Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that center Janis Sprukts has returned from the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League.

Sprukts received his first recall on October 20th and made his NHL debut later that night in Florida’s 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

He has played in four games with the Amerks this season, registering two goals and two assists. The native of Riga, Latvia, was Florida’s eighth-round selection (234th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

He had just over a minute of ice time in his NHL debut. Should have kept him and tried him against the Thrashers.
