MacArthur fired home the winning goal with just 10 seconds to play, breaking a 3-3 tie on a power play as the Rochester Americans remained unbeaten with a 4-3 comeback victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday.
"I didn't even know how much time was left, but I didn't think it was only 10 seconds," MacArthur said after the victory at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Amerks rally with late goal to reach 7-0 start
To Russia, with love. Well, to Russia, anyway.
Alexei Semenov, who bolted from the Rochester Americans last weekend, is headed home to Europe as far as the Florida Panthers know.
"He's pursuing, as far as we know, opportunities in Russia," Jack Birch, director of hockey operations for the Panthers, said on Wednesday. "He apparently does not want to play in Rochester any longer."
Semenov has been suspended by the Panthers and will remain suspended if he does return home to play in the Russian league, Birch said. Florida will maintain ownership of his NHL rights.
