The home of ECHL referee Jason Rollins was destroyed in a fire on Dec. 15 while he was working a game in Columbia, S.C.
Rollins left the ice after the first period when he was notified of the blaze. Linesman Jameel Chaudry took over as referee for the final two periods.
His wife Sherri and 20-month-old son Maddox were not at home at the time of the fire, but the family lost everything in the inferno.
The Rollins are currently living with Sherri’s parents in Linwood, N.C. They have been told that reimbursement from insurance could take several months.
The ECHL is accepting donations on behalf of the Rollins Family at Jason Rollins Family, c/o ECHL, 116 Village Blvd., Suite 304, Princeton, NJ 08540.
